Further develops the intellectual and attitudinal competencies necessary for the student to successfully perform as a pediatric nurse practitioner across a variety of settings and continuum of care. Focuses on evidence-based care of acute and chronic health problems seen in infants through young adults in primary and urgent care. Encompasses assessment, diagnosis, and management of children with acute and chronic health problems. Considers family, cultural, and community context. Emphasizes the nurse practitioner role, including the development of consultation and referral skills.
