Examines assessment, health maintenance, and health promotion theories relevant to advanced practice nursing. Explores the impact of political, psychological, sociological, and physiological factors on the healthcare experiences of adolescents, adults, and older adults. Offers students an opportunity to investigate health behavior theories and apply primary and secondary prevention strategies across diverse settings including homes, communities, workplaces, and primary care facilities. Introduces theoretical and strategic approaches to behavior change that support health promotion. Emphasizes holistic and culturally responsive care that integrates interprofessional collaboration and addresses health disparities.
