PT 7002 — Core Concepts in Neuroscience and Research

Explores neuroscience concepts including neuroplasticity, motor control and learning, neuromechanical coupling, sensorimotor integration, dynamical systems theory, experimental design, and knowledge transfer methods. Offers students an opportunity to develop skills to critically evaluate models and theories used in prevention─including biomechanical constraints on neural reorganization, adaptive movement strategies, and biopsychosocial frameworks─to apply select models/theories to establish a line of inquiry. Students evaluate research designs and knowledge translation methods relevant to prevention science, including neurophysiological and biomechanical assessment integration and technology-enhanced rehabilitation approaches, and apply this information in planning the design, implementation, and dissemination of proposed research.
