Presents how healthcare philosophies, cultural beliefs, and societal structures shape healthcare practices, systems, and policies in both China and the United States. Immerses students in international experiences to explore how Chinese medicine principles─such as Yin-Yang theory, the Five Elements, and Qi energy─influence not only healthcare professionals but also lay people’s daily health behaviors, diet, and illness treatment strategies. Examines the intersections of tradition, science, and modern healthcare delivery from a global perspective. Offers students an opportunity to investigate core Chinese medicine practices such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, Tai Chi, and medicinal food therapy. Highlights a global perspective on integrative healthcare, reflecting on how diverse health and cultural beliefs approach wellness, disease prevention, treatment decisions, and patient-centered care.
