ECON 1113 — Data Analysis Tools for Economists

Presents an overview of popular software packages used by economists when carrying out data analysis. Covers Excel and its capabilities for data collection, importing, cleaning, merging, exploration, summarization, and visualization. Describes similar types of data analysis with at least two of the following three programming software: R, Python, and Stata. Students utilize said software to write their own code for data analysis. Introduces artificial intelligence tools as a complement to each of these software tools and techniques.
