Examines advanced concepts of the theory, application, methodology, and instrumentation used in planning, sampling, and analyzing environmental contaminants in air, water, and soils. Emphasizes design of lab experiments and field studies in the context of real-world conditions including sample management, instrument selection and quality control, documentation, calibration, data analysis, and data interpretation. Offers students an opportunity to build skills in proposal and report writing, as well as project design, through field experiments and class projects, including individual and team components.
