SLPA 5403 — Applied Foundations of Audiology

Presents the foundational knowledge and skills to work with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Describes the history and current requirements of the audiology profession. Examines the anatomy and physiology of the auditory mechanism and discusses the subjective and objective assessments used for diagnosis. Provides instruction how to recognize the types, degrees, and etiology of various hearing losses; understand and differentiate amplification options; interpret audiograms; and analyze cases to formulate recommendations.
