Concentrates on ethical and philosophical questions about war. Focuses on the nature of war and peace, the ethics of engaging in warlike violence or pacifism, the culpability of soldiers and civilians for war crimes and genocide, the increasing role of AI in war, the ethics of tactics such as assassination, terrorism, and propaganda. Also examines norms and strategies for attaining and maintaining peaceful relations between nations. Requires prior completion of two philosophy and/or religious studies courses.
