4 semester hoursGraduateLecture

Offers project-based experiential learning at the intersection of artificial intelligence and medical research. Engages students in human-AI collaboration for the ideation, design, and execution of an original research project in underexplored or emerging areas of nanomedicine or cell and gene therapy. Working individually and in teams, students use advanced AI tools to identify research gaps, develop and refine project proposals, conduct data-driven analyses, and iteratively draft and peer-review scientific manuscripts. Emphasizes ethical, responsible, and transparent use of AI throughout the research process. Culminates in a publication-ready manuscript demonstrating mastery of human-in-the-loop AI for scientific inquiry.
