Considers how stakeholders in a variety of roles (government, NGO, private industry, local communities, etc.) balance the interests of music tourism. Addressing the socioeconomic incentives and broader cultural and environmental impacts, discusses specific examples of local and regional organizations that promote music festivals, concerts, nightlife, and heritage events as tourist destinations. Introduces public policy recommendations as key interventions regarding the opportunities and costs of sustainable, community-engaged music tourism.
