Offers students an opportunity to work on a major IT project sponsored by a real-world business, education institution, government department, or nonprofit organization. Students apply informatics knowledge and software skills to develop an IT product that reflects their master’s program learning experience. Projects focus on information systems, technology, and data management and explore issues involving research and development or business and market strategies. Requires students working in teams to generate a polished report and a cogent final presentation. Strongly encourages students to create a portfolio that can be shown to potential employers or current supervisors.
