Explores trauma-informed practices at individual, organizational, and systemic levels. Critically analyzes the history, theoretical frameworks, and current body of literature in the field of trauma-informed care. Examines trauma-informed treatment approaches in counseling and case management, emphasizing historically marginalized populations. Considers ethical and legal frameworks related to the experience of trauma and evaluates social policy and issues of social injustice. Students participate in experiential learning activities and problem-based learning to demonstrate and apply knowledge acquired throughout the course.
