Uses interdisciplinarity and theory-based approaches to study the interplay between sexual politics and the fields comprising human services. Considers contemporary and historical paradigms of sexual health as they both reflect and shape politics, social inequality, cultural ideologies, and individual health and wellness. Incorporates strategies from sociology, social work, public health, and the education fields—as well as theoretical foundations from feminist, gender, queer, inequality, and prevention studies—to inform examination of social change embedded in professional practice.
