Studies the similarities and differences between literary texts and film versions of those texts and the interrelations between film and literature as forms of cultural expression in particular places and contexts. Visits to museums, festivals, city walks, historical sites, or other field trips connect local, regional, and national contexts and offer students an opportunity to compare how texts and films represent these material spaces through different aesthetic forms. May be repeated twice up to a total of 12 semester hours.
