Emphasizes a conscious use of intention as an integral part of performance and an awareness and investigation of the importance of the dancers’ relationship to space. Dancers utilize an expressive and qualitative range in movement, performance, and creative work. Expects students’ written work to be reflective of an increased intellectual understanding of modern dance and its social and historical influence. May be repeated twice.
