DANC 2910 — Music for Dance

Explores musical form in relation to dance movement, the effects of musical style on dance movement, musicality as perceived by performer and audience, and choreomusicology. Offers students an opportunity to learn conventional musical terminology, as well as elements of music history and music theory that most closely relate to dance. Requires analytical written and oral assignments, compositional exercises involving movement and sound, and analysis of audio and visual media.
