Explores advanced scientific computing practices for building scalable and reproducible bioinformatics workflows. Offers students an opportunity to develop analysis pipelines using Bash, Slurm, Docker, Singularity, Nextflow, and Snakemake and to deploy them on high-performance computing clusters and AWS cloud platforms. Examines cloud-based genomics services, including AWS Batch and HealthOmics, and presents DevOps techniques for automating testing and deployment using GitHub Actions. Covers lightweight database design for managing analysis metadata and introduces interactive visualization using R Shiny and Dash. Concludes with a team-based project using agile methodology, Jira, and Confluence to design and implement a complete, cloud-ready bioinformatics workflow.
