ARTG 5800 — Interaction Design Studio 1

Explores concepts in interaction design, such as the multifaceted nature of human-to-object and human-to-human interactions. Studies critical perspectives through hands-on example analysis, critiques, readings, seminar discussions, and assignments. Investigates interaction paradigms while examining principles and techniques for designing and evaluating interactive experiences including how users gain agency through interfaces, how systems respond to human input, and how designers create meaningful exchanges between people and technology. Emphasizes applying these insights to experimental and novel interactions and encouraging iterative design and critical reflection that combine theory, creativity, and hands-on practice.
